Entrusted by the Standard Quota Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, on July 13, 2023, recommended by the Construction Market Supervision Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, and led by the China Building Metal Structure Association, the acceptance meeting of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development’s scientific plan project “Research and Application of Steel Structure Residential Component Standardization and Construction Intelligence” was held in Haining, Zhejiang. The meeting was chaired by Xu Lifeng, an independent researcher on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements at the Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, and the deputy editor in chief of the magazine “Construction Science and Technology”.
The promotion of pilot projects for steel structure residential buildings has always been an important task of the Municipal Construction Market Supervision Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development. The promotion of steel structure residential buildings cannot be separated from the research, promotion, and application of component standardization and intelligent construction.
This topic is in line with the key support direction of the 2020 Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development’s research and development projects, which is “supporting the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry”, and is directly related to the direction of “green construction industry chain research”. Studying steel structure prefabricated residential buildings is in line with the overall direction of national construction industrialization and residential industrialization, and is the main battlefield for the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, with important strategic significance. The standardization of components, raw materials for profiles, automated robots, and intelligent production construction in this project improve the industrialization level from design, materials, implementation, and other aspects throughout the entire process, improve product quality and production efficiency, reduce production energy consumption, and comply with the research direction of the green construction industry chain. It can promote the promotion and application of steel structure residential systems in practical engineering, and provide strong technical support for China’s industrial transformation and upgrading of the construction industry.
